The self cleaning smart toilet was invented by Panasonic Electric Works in Japan in 1970. They had previously designed and tested a self cleaning water system called “Shiseido Bath”. As soon as the lid goes up, the cabinet immediately re-closes. This prevents anyone from turning the toilet bowl or the cabinet during the self-clean process. Some models allow you to lock/unlock the doors from the top instead of opening them from the bottom. Lock/unlock the doors either from the top or from the bottom of the toilet seat.
